Meet the IMPACT Team

Dr. Janet Patterson M.D., F.R.C.P. (C): I have been a fully licensed physician in the province of Ontario since 1982 when I graduated from medicine at McMaster University Medical School.  I completed my residency training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at McMaster from 1982-1987 before completing my residency in Psychiatry in 1991.  This was followed by a year of fellowship training in Toronto in Child and Family Psychiatry and Systems Theory.  I have been a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario since 1991 and am currently on faculty at McMaster University.  I have worked in a variety of outpatient and inpatient psychiatric settings including the Mood Disorders Unit inpatient setting from 2004-2007.  I have a part-time faculty appointment with the Department of Psychiatry and have been extensively involved with the education of medical students and psychiatry residents since 1991.  Currently, I work on an acute inpatient psychiatric ward and part-time in a private clinical practice. I also cover the consult Liaison service and Emergency Psychiatric Department at St Joseph's on a semi-regular basis. For further details, please refer to my curriculum vitae.

Emily MacKillop, PhD, CPsych., ABPP-CN: is an experienced registered clinical psychologist and neuropsychologist. She has been board certified in clinical neuropsychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) since 2012. She has assumed roles as clinician, educator, clinical director, training director, researcher, and mentor during her 16+ year career working in a multitude of clinical and academic settings. She is an associate professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences at McMaster University and has worked as a staff psychologist at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton since 2014, currently in the Concurrent Disorders Program. She has been the owner and director of the Memory and Cognition Clinic, a premium psychological and neuropsychological service centre, since 2023. She enjoys teaching and can be hired for clinical consultation, trainings, lectures, and in-service clinical workshops. Her knowledge and expertise is unparalleled in the field of neuropsychology. Olivia McGeever, MSc, MA, RP (Qual): holds a Master of Science in Global Health from McMaster University, with a focus on health economics and population management, as well as a Master of Counselling Psychology. A qualifying registered psychotherapist and experienced psychometrist, she brings a wealth of experience from managing a psychiatric outpatient clinic for five years. Olivia also served in the Peace Corps for two years, leading projects in sexual education, teacher training, and youth development. She is committed to fostering inclusive, patient-centered care and brings expertise in clinical coordination, project management, and health education.
